Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is bringing in a new cardiology system,. This is major transformation programme that will affect almost all Trust employees, supporting them to provide better quality care for our patients and families.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager (B8a) for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital.

The Cardiology system will be a big change for all our patient-facing teams, so we are looking for people with the energy, passion and resilience to manage the complexities and high risks involved to help us deliver this critical programme of work.
Main duties of the job
This is a project management role within the Cardiology System Implementation Team.
The Senior Project Manager will lead and co-ordinate the work of the application analysts for a group of modules. They will work with the other application module leads to ensure a consistent approach to the configuration and integration between all modules is taken.
This will involve providing guidance, ensuring compliance around information standards and quality across the configuration teams and to the wider Cardiology system programme.
They will work in a complex multi-disciplinary environment and need to be able to act with minimum guidelines whilst setting standards for others. They will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.
The Senior Project Manager will use expert programme knowledge to support and guide the team in making appropriate decisions when working with stakeholders to configure best practice workflows and designing configuration to ensure data and workflows align with reporting and clinical audit requirements.This will involve the module teams working closely alongside clinical and operational colleagues throughout the duration of the programme.
The Applications Project manager will represent the module team providing assurance and guidance around their areas of responsibility at management and stakeholder meetings. They will always act as an ambassador for the BWCH EPR programme.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Post graduate qualifications (masters) or equivalent
- Project or Programme management qualification (Prince II, Managing Successful Programmes or equivalent)
- Evidence of continual professional development
- Evidence of formal management development or relevant experience
- Quality Improvement qualification (e.g. Lean)
- Coaching qualification
KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria- Extensive Project Management skills and experience
- Knowledge of NHS Strategy and Policy
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in managing risk
- Experience in managing complex IT projects
- Experience of both operational leadership and projects/ IT within the NHS setting
- Experience in training provision
- Familiarity with IT based management and information systems
- Knowledge and Experience of LEAN Improvement methodology
- Experience in managing complex organisational change projects
- Experience in budgetary and resource management
- Experience in capacity and service planning within an acute health care setting
ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENT SKILLS
