Social Media Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Manager to join Finisterre on a part-time basis. Leading the channel budget and strategy, you will ensure Finisterre’s social media presence supports and delivers against business goals, translating briefs into a channel post plan and strategy that sets up our social media platforms for success.
A key focus of the role is managing and supporting the Junior Social Media Executive to ensure content is delivered on time, on brief, and within budget. You’ll review and sign off assets across channels, and occasionally step in to create content during high-demand periods.
You’ll also own and maintain the Trade Calendar, lead day-to-day content planning, report weekly on KPIs in trading meetings, and contribute to monthly retrospectives — providing strategic input and making adjustments in response to performance and business priorities.

Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Directly responsible for the creation and management of the social media strategy across all organic social channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, Pinterest, Linkedin and Threads
- Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and wider Marketing team to refine and sign off social media strategies
- Work closely with brand and content teams to execute on strategy. Always making sure, the business goals are being driven through the Organic Social Channel
- Connect with the full marketing team and other parts of the business to develop a deep understanding of all of the projects, initiatives and products we can shout about and entertain our audience with on our social channels
- Maintain a monthly content calendar, based off the social strategy, making sure that all storytelling points are covered and planned in the most engaging and performance driven way
- Maintain a clear posting schedule and ensure that it is being fulfilled in both its creation and its posting by the Junior Social Media Exec
- Writing detailed and clear briefs for both SME and the Creative team when necessary to make sure the strategy is being achieved and content is created in good time, on brief and with relevant sign-off
- Directly responsible for the performance of Organic Social as a channel in meeting business KPI’s
- Managing and analysing the performance of our social media channels and produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the performance
- Providing strategic pivots as and when needed
- Making sure that all pivots, both for socials and from the wider business are communicated to the Junior Social Media Exec in a timely manner
- Line managing the Junior Social Media Exec to make sure all briefs are completed and taken through relevant sign off in good time, providing them with a helpful and steady flow of feedback to ensure all content performs well across all platforms
- Directly responsible for the Social Media budget and performance – including making recommendations for investments, directly managing how the budget is allocated, tracking that budget and reporting as required.
- Responsible for negotiating budgets with contractors and Social Media Creators making sure all budgets are met and help to achieve business goals
- Create content at times, when workloads/deadlines require (i.e. holiday cover, pinch points, etc)
- Select and coordinate on-shoot creators for seasonal campaign shoots, ensuring they are clearly briefed and deliver on time, on brief, and on budget
- 5+ years experience in a multi-channel retail business in a social media role
- A strong understanding of the key skills, deliverables and challenges of social media marketing, with evidence of delivering continuous improvement
- Ability to manage and develop a team, or proof of aspiration to do so
- Intuitive understanding of all social channels and how they work
- Excitement around AI and how it can optimise your work
- Passion, energy and aspiration in line with Finisterre values, products, brand and customers
- Excellent self-awareness, communication and interpersonal skills
- Thrives on positive change and able to manage self and others under pressure
- Relevant experience in a multi-channel retail business

We are offering a part time 22.5- hour, permanent contract, based at our Headquarters at Wheal Kitty, St Agnes, Cornwall.
- £21,000 (calculated on a pro-rata basis to a FTE of £30,000
- £35,000) depending on your skills and experience.
