Falkirk Council Pension Fund has an exciting new role for an Accounting Manager specialising in Pension Fund Accounting and Investments. Falkirk Council is responsible for managing a £3.5 billion pension fund on behalf of almost 39,000 members and various employers. We are part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme which operates within a framework of rules set by the UK and Scottish Governments.
We are looking for a talented Individual with a mix of skills to provide leadership and strategic direction in relation to our accounting and investment requirements.
You will report to the Chief Finance Officer and be required to prepare and present regular reports to the Pensions Committee and Pension Board. You will manage a small team of individuals and engage productively with key contacts (for example auditors, the Fund custodian and investment fund managers).You will work with the Pensions Manager on matters of mutual interest. Further investment support will be available through the collaborative arrangement which the Fund has with the Lothian Pension Fund.
You will be a qualified accountant and have membership of a relevant professional body. Ideally, you will be experienced at a senior level within a comparative organisation and have sound treasury/investment knowledge as well as excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
