Robert Half is partnering with a fast-paced and growing business in the Midlands to recruit an Interim Group Financial Controller. This is a pivotal role offering immediate impact, providing hands-on support through the year-end process and audit.
You'll be stepping into a high-profile finance role where accuracy, technical expertise and pace are key. Working closely with the Group Finance Director, you will lead on group consolidation, statutory reporting, and liaising with auditors - while ensuring the day-to-day finance function remains strong and well-supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the group consolidation and statutory reporting process
- Prepare high-quality year-end accounts across multiple entities
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing queries and responses
- Ensure technical compliance across IFRS/UK GAAP as needed
- Provide oversight and support to the wider finance team
- Strengthen and maintain internal financial controls
- Assist with ad hoc projects, analysis and process improvements as required
We are looking for a strong technical accountant who can get stuck in from day one and drive through delivery at pace.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Have strong technical knowledge, ideally with group-level consolidation experience
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach and ability to work autonomously
- Bring prior experience of supporting audit processes in a group finance environment
- Be immediately available or available on short notice
- Be based in the Midlands, with ability to be on-site when required
