We have job opportunities for NMC registered nurses, with relevant experience, to join the cancer inpatient ward teams. There are permanent/substantive or fixed-term posts, and we could provide opportunities for staff rotation across wards and specialties and offer flexible working.Our teams work together to provide high quality, expert and innovative care to treat children and young people (CYP) with a cancer diagnosis. We actively trial new therapies and different models of care. We are at the forefront of cancer treatment.
Our medical and nursing experts work in collaboration with the Institute of Child Health (ICH) and with other treatment centres across the United Kingdom.

Main duties of the job
Lion, Elephant and Giraffe Wards are the inpatient areas of the Cancer Unit at GOSH. We are the Principal Treatment Centre (PTC) for CYP with cancer, aged 13 years and under, in North Thames. The Unit is the largest Clinical Centre for CYP Haematology/Oncology/Cancer in the UK.We work in collaboration with our Joint PTC colleagues at the University College of London Hospital (UCLH), who treats teenagers and young adults (TYA) with cancer. As a Joint PTC we work closely with our Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Units (POSCU) across London and provide a holistic, seamless service to cancer patients and their families.
Our aim is to deliver a positive patient experience in a dynamic environment.
There are many different opportunities for staff development including involvement in research, trials, new therapies, care of CYP undergoing treatments such as high dose therapy with stem cell rescue and CAR-T. The Unit continues to expand, and over the next few years patients and staff will continue to be involved in design and workforce planning and transformation work as we build a brand new Children’s Cancer Centre.
