We are seeking a compassionate, experienced leader to join Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust as Assistant Director for Children and Young People’s Specialist Services. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across a wide range of services, including Medical and Nursing, Therapies, and Mental Health, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job- Lead operational delivery of CYP specialist services
- Drive performance, quality, and patient safety standards
- Manage service budgets and ensure efficient use of resources
- Support service transformation and improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements
- Provide strategic leadership across multi-disciplinary teams
- Represent the Trust in partnerships and system-wide forums
- Deputise for the Deputy Director as needed
- Respond to incidents, complaints, and service user feedback
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning

Knowledge
Essential criteria- Experience of senior operational leadership
- Extensive financial/budget management experience
- Experience of working with other agencies
- Evidence of management and leadership in complex & changing organisation circumstances
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Knowledge and expertise acquired through in-depth experience or theoretical study to Master’s degree level or equivalent experience).
- Evidence of continuing professional and managerial development.
- Management/Leadership qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Professional clinical qualification
