An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clerical Assistant to join the Physiotherapy department. The post holder will participate in the day to day activities of an administration/reception team and will provide patient admin support to the Physiotherapy staff within this busy department.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the post are interesting and varied and include reception duties in our outpatient department, arranging patient appointments using an electronic booking system, patient record retrieval, audio/digital dictation typing, typing letters/reports, data input to Clinical Manager System database (CMS) as well as undertaking general office duties including post, filing, photocopying and email.
Communicating with patients regarding appointments will be an important part of the role and you will also be require to communicate with other healthcare staff inside and outside of the hospital.
This post will be mainly based at St Luke's Hospital, locations of cover will also be BRI, Westbourne Green, WWP/Horton Park

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
- An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview
- ECDL/CLAIT/RSA II
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, internet, e-mail etc
- Knowledge of Clinical Manager System (CMS/SQL), SystmOne, EPR
Skills
Essential criteria- Attention to detail
- Good interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing at a high level
- Literacy and Numeracy
- Use of electronic systems, diaries and patient records
Experience
Essential criteria- Working experience/knowledge of computers, data input and word processing
- Experience working with the general public
- Reception duties
- Previous NHS experience
