We’re seeking a self-assured and driven Buying Officer to join our team at Motherwell for a 14-month maternity cover. This position is well-suited for an enthusiastic, proactive team member who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, enjoys working under pressure, possesses a keen awareness of quality, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.

What you'll do- Drafting contracts for the Scottish Buying team
- Generating purchasing notifications for Suppliers
- Securing price confirmations for Suppliers after the end of negotiations
- Collecting data from Suppliers for the Scottish Buying team and checking for plausibility
- Setting up and maintaining master data in the Purchasing systems
- Implementing basic training for new, international and non-specialist employees
- Updating and maintaining Training material for all processes within the team
- Involvement in the optimisation of processes
- Preparation of weekly reports
- German speakers preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, able to work well in a team and independently within a high-pressured environment
- Demonstrates strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to targets and stringent deadlines
- Excellent time management skills
- A high degree of adaptability
- A confident approach with excellent communication skills
- Pro-active, approaching problems logically and calmly
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office
- Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
