An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pastoral Welfare Officer at a primary school located in the L15 area. This newly established role is ideal for an experienced educator with a passion for supporting young people in crucial aspects of pastoral care.
Key Information:
- Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (a permanent contract will be offered following a successful probationary period)
- Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Schedule: Term-time only, plus 5 INSET days
- Start Date: February 2025
About the Role: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the school’s pastoral support, addressing pupils' mental and physical wellbeing to help eliminate barriers to learning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Offer guidance and support to pupils, fostering their social, emotional, and personal development.
- Deliver targeted interventions (both one-to-one and group sessions) to enhance pupils' wellbeing.
- Establish strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and staff members.
- Assist the attendance team in improving pupil attendance.
- Provide first aid and medical support as required.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess:
- A warm, approachable, and empathetic personality.
- Experience in delivering wellbeing interventions.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people’s development and overcoming learning barriers.
