Are you a highly motivated, dynamic, and organised Medical Secretary looking for a new opportunity?
The team supports a team of consultants who are based in Harrogate.
As Team Leader, you will provide day to day supervision and coordination of a small team, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.
As Medical secretary you will provide comprehensive, confidential secretarial and administrative support in our extremely busy department, you will be a great team player, excellent interpersonal skills, and will be able to work under pressure to set deadlines.As such you must already be an experienced Medical Secretary.
This is a service that is critical to ensuring high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job- Providing secretarial/administration service to the Consultants and medical teams.
- Leading the team using initiative, experience and leadership skills.
- Accurately co-ordinating medical information to expedite the continuing care of patients.
- Taking responsibility for the successful organisation of the Secretarial/PA workload using time management, planning and organising skills.
- Use initiative and maintain a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times without immediate access to line supervision.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English at Grade C or above
- RSA III Typewriting, word processing or equivalent
- Knowledge of a range of software programmes, understanding of medical terminology
- Association of Medical Secretaries Diploma, or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria- Recent significant previous hospital, healthcare or NHS experience in a medical secretary role (1 year or more)
- Excellent word-processing, audio and touch typing skills
- Experience working in a team
- Able to/previous experience of leading a team
- Experience of working in a variety of different medical secretary roles
