We’re looking for an Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role can either be based at our Head Office in Kings Hill, UK or at one of our offices in Europe (France, Germany or the Netherlands).

This is a newly created role and reflects the increasing appetite within our business to build a first-class internal communications function that will deliver brilliant communications to our colleagues across Europe. We are looking for an experienced comms professional who is able to use their skills to build pride and excitement in the future of Westfalia Fruit.

Working closely with the European leadership team and reporting to the Group Communications and Public Relations Executive, you will deliver compelling and engaging internal communications that will include uncovering and sharing the latest news and regional events from all of our business hubs in Europe and the latest updates from our leadership teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute the European Communications & Engagement strategy, based on the global strategy.
  • Create and deliver clear, impactful internal communications to drive colleague understanding and advocacy for company transformation.
  • Translate complex information into engaging and accessible content for all 8,500 colleagues. This includes colleagues who do not have direct access to IT and will need to be informed and updated by physical communications.
  • Develop and deliver targeted communication campaigns to build engagement with company priorities.
  • Uncover and showcase inspiring stories to celebrate colleague achievements and company initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain internal communication platforms, keeping content fresh and readily accessible.
  • Demonstrate creativity and find innovative ways to reach colleagues across all roles and locations.
  • Champion the core values of clarity, transparency, consistency, and two-way dialogue in all communications.

Requirements

Experience we look for:

Essential
  • Prior experience of executing successful internal communications and content across Europe.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering engaging internal communication materials, ideally relating to change transformation within an organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ideally with a second European language (German, French, Dutch or Spanish).
Desirable
  • A degree in communications, marketing or a related field.
  • Experience with visual design tools (i.e. Adobe creative suite)
  • Experience with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Yammer).
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and communication tools.
  • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
