Senior Teaching and Learning Support Practitioner - Catering
What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful post holder will support and assist teachers and other senior staff as part of a professional team to contribute to raising standards of pupils’ achievement in the vocational area of catering. You will undertake a range of teaching and learning activities under the professional general guidance of a qualified teacher or senior staff member, in line with the school’s policies and procedures.Supervising allocated teaching and learning support staff you will have experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment. The ability to plan, prepare and deliver engaging and practical catering lessons whilst demonstrating safe and hygienic food preparation practices are essential.
You should possess specialist skills or training in your subject field, the ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, with training in relevant learning strategies and a relevant qualification in Catering, Hospitality or a related field (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or above).
It would be advantageous if you had experience teaching catering or a related subject, a qualification in teaching or a related field and experience working with students with additional needs.
