Main duties of the job
Leads the pharmacy elements of providing a service to dermatology patients of MCHFT, including:
- Assessment of prescriptions against clinical criteria.
- Supporting patients and their carers in respect of their medication.
- Development of regimens, protocols, policies and drug monographs.
- Developing safe processes for Medicines Management documentation.
- Advanced Clinical Practice provision for dermatology patients.
- Development and maintenance of prescription and treatment record systems.
- Involvement in the development of electronic prescribing and administration system(s) for MCHFT.
- Independent prescribing of dermatology medications including conventional and biological DMARDs for rheumatology patients when independent prescribing qualification achieved.
- Advises medical, nursing and other staff on the efficient prescribing, administration, storage and security of medicines.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
- Supports Divisional pharmacists in the provision of information on the use of dermatology medicines, including interpretation of drug usage and expenditure reports.

The Pharmacy department at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) are working towards implementing EPMA as part of a Trust wide role out of a new Digital Clinical System. This is an opportunity to be involved in the role out and development of new ways of working to improve patient care.

Essential criteria- Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy and Registration with GPhC
- Post graduate dipolma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Non-medical prescribing qualification

- Appointments are subject to a 6-month probationary period. LED Doctors are subject to a 3-month probationary period.
