Join our dynamic Payments team at DWF in Manchester on a hybrid basis and be at the heart of our financial operations! As a Legal Cashier - Payments, you'll play a crucial role in managing and analysing all payment functions, from client transactions to office expenses.
You'll handle outgoing payments (BACS, faster payments, CHAPs, and cheques), oversee payment approvals, manage queries and mailboxes, and be the key contact for banks. Plus, you'll support ledger management and assist with bank reconciliation investigations.

Responsibilities:
As a Legal Cashier - Payments, you will be responsible for managing client and office bank accounts in accordance with Solicitors Accounting Rules (SAR). You'll prepare and authorise various types of outgoing online electronic bank transfers (BACS, CHAPS, and Faster Payments) and assist with raising cheques for local and regional offices.Your role will also involve managing shared query inboxes to ensure timely and accurate responses to stakeholders, monitoring and ensuring the accurate recording of all financial transactions, and building and maintaining effective relationships with the Cashiering, Disbursements, and Accounts Payable teams, as well as the wider Finance team and business stakeholders.
Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the bank account register and Payments DOA for audit purposes, provide support with bank account reconciliations to ensure accurate records with a focus on SAR compliance, and attend team meetings regularly to help implement improvements and controls in identified problem areas.You will also consider all new requested information in line with agreed Data Protection, AML, Fraud, Service Standards, ISO Procedures, and SAR requirements, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Payments team.
