Interim Senior Construction Project Manager
Job Ref: Bristol 5263751Pay Rate: £410.06 per day PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: BRISTOL
Role is hybrid, with regular attendance on site in Bristol necessary.
You will work as part of a programme team delivering new, extended or redeveloped locations to help increase placements for children & young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Projects range from repairs and maintenance, through redevelopment of existing locations to the construction of new spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape, plan, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the desired outcome using the most appropriate project management methodology.Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, managing complex internal and external dependencies, and using the plan to monitor and report progress.
Identify the skills and resources required for successful project delivery, building the internal team and sourcing appropriate external support.
Provide leadership to the project team, offering ongoing supervision, support, and guidance to ensure successful delivery.
Actively manage risks through analysis, mitigation strategies, and contingency planning.
Effectively manage the project budget, ensuring adherence to financial procedures and regulations, and accurately forecasting expenditure.
Monitor and address budget variances, ensuring effective management of financial resources within agreed tolerances.
Key requirements:
A relevant degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.Chartered status or working towards chartered status with a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
Strong understanding of contract management and the ability to work with a variety of contract types (e.g., JCT, NEC).
Extensive experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the desired quality.
Experience in managing large, complex construction projects from initiation to completion.
Experience in developing and managing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Proven ability to assess, manage, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
