Workshop/ Production Manager

FVF Ltd (Forth Valley Fabrications) is a specialist in nationwide steel fabrication and construction across the UK and Ireland. We are currently seeking a Workshop/Production Manager for our facility in Bandeath Stirling to oversee all fabrication operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Report directly to the Operations Director.

Conduct daily production meetings.

Producing and maintain daily / weekly programme.

Manage and monitor workloads, including revisions and drawing variations, in collaboration with the Workshop Foreman and Quality team.

Review fabrication drawings and lot lists before issuing to the shop floor, ensuring accuracy before production begins.

Ensure Foremen execute production plans by tracking performance and resolving any issues that arise.

Review weekly Quality/NCR reports, addressing root causes, corrective actions, and ensuring timely closeouts.

Interpret fabrication drawings to identify complex components.

Coordinate shifts with Foremen and the Works Manager to ensure plans are executed efficiently.

Ensure assembly lines are supplied with all required materials and processed parts.

Monitor tool costs, performance, and stock levels.

Coordinate training for workshop personnel with the Health, Safety, and Training Manager, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.

Liaise with external paint shops and galvanizers to maintain production flow and meet delivery schedules.

Compare estimated and actual production times to track efficiency.

Support process improvements through the development of templates, fixtures, and safe work systems.

Work closely with the planner to manage current and future workloads.

Ensure process times are accurately reflected in the time rating system before tasks are assigned to the shop floor.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by reviewing operator efficiency with the production management team.

Continually review production methods, equipment, and processes to improve productivity and quality.

Train and develop team members to the appropriate level.

Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop.

Fulfill any reasonable request from the management team.

Assist the CNC management team when needed.

Booking of outsource requirements, when required such are sub fabrication , CNC machines , transport etc.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize a demanding workload, and excellent planning and organizational abilities are essential.

You should have prior supervisory or managerial experience and a solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can lead and inspire the team, ensuring production targets, able to works to budgets and that all quality standards are upheld.
