Sheridan School are recruiting for a Head Teacher at our site in the rural Breckland countryside in between Thetford and Downham Market. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with the knowledge of how to inspire exceptional performance and maintain a positive and enthusiastic learning environment for pupils and colleagues alike.

Leading and managing the development and implementation of the curriculum and education programmes through the process of continuous improvements and champion the Company’s ethos.

The school can cater for up to 70 pupils from primary through to secondary level. We are a Norfolk-based school, welcoming young people from across the county.

We aim to deliver the highest level of education tailored to individual needs in a safe, positive and structured environment where every student is encouraged to achieve the best possible academic, social and vocational outcomes.

Located in the small village of Northwold, Sheridan School enjoys a tranquil setting in the Norfolk countryside however it is still within easy reach of the facilities and amenities of Thetford, Norwich and King’s Lynn.

The successful candidate will become part of our strong and supportive network of Head Teachers. Someone with extensive senior leadership experience within a special school setting for young people with autism and SEMH needs along with the following characteristics:

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

Organisation – Organisation is key to ensure the safe management of both employees and resources as well as leading and directing staff through inspection processes.

Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital.
