About Our Client

This firm is a well-established company with a wide range of products supplied into the building, plumbing and electrical trades, they work with large multi million pound turnover business and the local building firm and pride themselves on offering equally exceptional standards of products and services to both!.

This role will be based out of Manchester with a modest team of 10, including 3 Internal Sales Representatives who will be keeping you busy with appointments.

Job Description

This is a great role and reflective of the sector will require good understanding and knowledge of products and trades. This role is a face to face role and will on average be on the road around the North West area 4 days per week. You'll typically be performing the following:

 •  Booking and leading client meetings for new, exciting and future customers based around Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire and surrounding areas
 •  Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities.
 •  Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
 •  Lead the sales team to meet and surpass business targets.
 •  Implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
 •  Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends.
 •  Coordinate with marketing team to promote property sales.
 •  Prepare and present sales reports to senior management.
 •  Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Business Development Manager should have:

 •  Proven experience in business development or a similar role in the merchant / trades industry.
 •  A full UK drivers licence is essential
 •  B2B Sales experience
 •  Field sales is not essential but our client is keen to see a keen interest in converting sales face to face - if this is the next step in your sales criteria click apply!
 •  Excellent organisation and team work skills.
 •  Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.
 •  Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles.
 •  Outstanding knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office.
 •  Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
