Murray Recruitment is recruiting a Workshop Controller for our client in the industrial services sector based in Lanarkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, expanding organisation that provides essential services across Scotland.
Overview
As a Workshop Controller, you will play a key role in managing and supporting a team of technicians and apprentices to ensure the efficient running of the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Managing and coaching a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices, ensuring targets and business objectives are achieved.Overseeing servicing and maintenance tasks, ensuring they are completed accurately, competently, and on time.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, including health and safety, DVSA, and manufacturer standards.
Collaborating with colleagues and other departments to deliver a seamless service.
Scheduling work based on customer needs, workshop targets, job complexity, and parts availability.
Preparing accurate estimates for servicing and repairs, including setting clear timescales.
Assisting technicians with technical challenges and guiding them toward effective solutions.
Recording technician hours and accurately processing data for payroll purposes.
Skills & Experience
Relevant experience in the automotive industry, ideally in workshop control or as a technician.Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proficiency in IT systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues across all levels.
The ability to lead by example, motivate your team, and drive high-quality results.
