The YOS Court Officer plays a vital role in the youth justice system, focusing on rehabilitating and guiding young offenders through the court process. This position demands a deep understanding of youth behavior, legal procedures, and social services to effectively navigate the complexities of adolescent criminal cases.The YOS Court Officer works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including judges, attorneys, and social workers, to ensure that young offenders receive the support and resources necessary for their rehabilitation. By fostering a positive and constructive environment in court settings, the officer assists in monitoring cases, providing recommendations for interventions, and advocating for the best interests of youth involved in the legal system.
The YOS Court Officer not only focuses on accountability but also emphasizes the importance of education, life skills, and therapeutic options to reduce recidivism. They are responsible for preparing court reports, conducting assessments, and collaborating with families, schools, and community organizations to develop personalized rehabilitation plans.

ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments of youth offenders to evaluate their needs and circumstances.
Prepare comprehensive reports for court proceedings that outline recommendations and observations.
Provide counseling and advocacy for youth and their families throughout the court process.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including legal representatives and social service providers.
Monitor compliance with court orders and provide regular updates to the court.
Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on youth assessments.
Facilitate educational workshops on legal rights, responsibilities, and the court process for youth and their families.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience working with youth in a legal or rehabilitative capacity.
Strong understanding of the juvenile justice system and current issues affecting youth.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with youth, families, and professionals.
Ability to conduct assessments and formulate effective rehabilitation plans.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in preparing reports and documentation.
Commitment to promoting positive youth development and community involvement.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time : 08:45End Time : 17:15
Pay Per Hour: £18.78
