Are you looking to join a friendly and supportive dietetics team? Our team comprises of 10.0 WTE Hospital Dietitians and 2.5 WTE community Dietitians.
We are pleased to announce an opportunity has arise in Newham Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust as a Band 5 Dietitian to work in a 6-month rotational post between inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We are looking for a motivated and an enthusiastic dietitian to join our innovative dietetic team.You will have the opportunity to build on your training and gain experience across a number of clinical areas like Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Stroke and Neurology and many more in a large multicultural population of Newham Borough of London.
Main duties of the job- You will take an active role in training dietetics students from London Metropolitan University as well as training non-dietetics staff. We are committed to work based education and training to improve clinical skills and we actively encourage CPD and audit.
- You will also be working closely with multidisciplinary teams and other AHPs such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or relevant postgraduate qualification
- HPC registered
Experience
Essential criteria- Clinical experience in acute and/or community setting
- Experience of working with a team and understanding team dynamics
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria- The ability to supervise student dietitians and clinical support workers
- Ability to work effectively single handily with individuals and groups
- Ability to problem solve, analyse complex clinical problems and create practical solutions to provide best clinical care
- Ability to undertake audit and change practice in accordance to findings
- Ability to research and interpret literature and apply to own practice to ensure clinical practice is up to date
- Computer Literacy I.e Microsoft word, power point, excel
- Good organisational skills i.e. managing own workload
- Ability to take own initiative and plan own workload and CPD
- Ability to demonstrate behaviour change/ motivational interviewing through dietetic consultations
- Leadership skills i.e through development of a project/service development or managing staff

- Self-motivated i.e. uses own initiative to seek CPD opportunities, recognise needs of the service and areas to develop

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with people from a variety of backgrounds e.g. via advocacy/interpreters
- Ability to present complex information to large groups, i.e presentations to Medical and nursing staff and other health care professionals as well as patients
