Personal Vetting & Records Officer
The post holder will be expected to:
Maintain the Unit’s Vetting Register, ensuring accurate clearance recorded for all Military, MOD Civil Service, Deployed Service Personnel, Contractors and visitors.
Initiating timely clearance reviews for Service Personnel to ensure correct and continuous clearance is held for each post.
Liaising with Army PersSyA, Navy PSyA, Air-Ops PSyA and DBS Civilian HR to request priority or hasten clearance applications, and refer any vetting issues or queries for Unit and Deployed Personnel.
Ensure all personnel complete the annual Security Appraisal Form.
Administering and advising the Unit on vetting policy and procedures.
Provide advice, assistance and guidance with all security related enquiries.
Arranging and liaising with UKSV Vetting Officers in arranging interviews, chasing information as necessary.
Advise the SyWO of any clearance matters that need to be added to the Unit’s Risk Register, and when to remove.
Checking and referring STRAP applications, and STRAP Inducting Unit and Deployed Personnel.
Filing management of Vetting and STRAP documentation for Unit and Deployed Personnel.
Brief clearance policy and procedures to new members (Selection and Deployed Personnel).
Liaising with the Security Cell and the MDP Lodge, providing clearance and requesting passes for personnel as per access control measures, for Unit and Deployed Personnel.
Liaise with coalition organisations to facilitate access/visits in the UK and overseas locations for all unit and Deployed Service Personnel.
Completing clearance checks for Secret and AS Account Requests for Unit and Deployed Personnel.
Liaise with the Security Cell and Herefordshire Council Electoral Services to provide guidance, and complete Anonymous Electors Applications and Attestation for Service Personnel Voters.
