We are seeking a skilled Trade Operative (Carpenter) with a focus on UPVC repairs and installations to join our City Development and Neighbourhoods division based in Leicester. This role involves a wide range of carpentry tasks, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient service delivery to all customers.

Day-to-day of the role:

Undertake a range of repairs and maintenance tasks of a core trade to agreed quality and performance standards, including enabling and finishing works.

Specialise in UPVC repairs and installations, ensuring all work is completed to high standards.

Assess repairs and maintenance work required and take appropriate action to rectify, aiming to achieve a ‘right first time’ service.

Determine and arrange appropriate and value for money resources required to complete repairs & maintenance and remove any waste.

Actively manage the stock of parts and equipment on vehicles to ensure the most efficient completion of work.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve or notify of issues arising, such as outstanding repairs, rechargeable items, breaches of tenancy conditions, and safeguarding concerns.

Direct and supervise apprentices and other assigned trainees.

Clean and tidy areas following repairs & refurbishment work.

Liaise with service customers before, during, and after repair & refurbishment work to ensure minimal inconvenience, including agreeing on suitable appointments.

Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a carpenter, specifically with expertise in UPVC repairs and installations.

Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.

Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Good physical condition and endurance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
