The Individual
The Diagnostic Assistant should be an energetic and confident individual, with the attitude to take ownership of any task assigned to them. This is one of the most versatile roles in the branch and hence requires the individual to be accepting of changing priorities, be it conducting complex diagnostic screenings, running around to get equipment, have tasks completed or keeping the general work area clean and tidy.
Role Purpose

To assist in the diagnostic and general operation of the store to achieve sales targets and profitability by driving KPIs and the delivery of excellent customer service, and to be a valuable part of a successful retail team.

The Role

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Achieve excellent Maze scores through positive customer responses.
  • Operate all the Diagnostic equipment in the pre-screen area in preparation for an eye exam.
  • Equipment use of Auto refractor, non-Contact tonometer, fundus camera, OCT and visual fields.
  • Effective management of time when completing diagnostics tests.
  • Ensure the general work areas are clean and hygienically safe, this may include basic housekeeping.
  • Effective communication with patients and all stakeholders, especially optometrists.
  • Adapt the procedures to accommodate different patient visual needs and demographics.
  • Ensure customer needs are met at every opportunity.
  • Carry out all basic customer paperwork correctly.
  • Always understand and follow NHS guidelines.
  • Effectively inform customers about all Specsavers products and offers.
  • Meet and exceed all personal and team goals.
  • Conduct any general administration or day to day operational tasks, as requested by Line Manager / Assistant Manager / Practice Manager
  • Be an ambassador for the Specsavers brand at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £8.00-£11.66 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
