Service Desk and SOC Analyst
Location: Based from our Belfast office. Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.
Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 depending on skills & experience

What you'll do
We are looking for a Tier 1 SOC Analyst to join our Security Operations Centre Team in Belfast. As a SOC Analyst, you will be assessing security systems, identifying, and patching vulnerabilities and improving overall cyber resilience across the company.
Applicants will need to possess a real passion for cyber security and hold a degree in an IT related field or equivalent.

We're looking for someone with- Minimum one to two years previous experience working in a 1st/2nd line support role is preferable
- Strong knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware and cyber security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus
- Solid experience of SIEM technologies such as QRadar, Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
- Should hold current SC clearance or be suitable for assessment
- Knowledge of cyber security threats
- The ability to interpret technical data to non-technical staff
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to work well individually with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.

An idea of what the role involves- Logging incidents/faults and prioritising tasks
- Reporting incidents and dealing with incident response in line with SLA's
- Providing a high level of customer service to customers via telephone, email, and customer portal.
- Gathering information from customers regarding their incidents and recording accurately on the Service Management tool.
- Prioritising incidents and requests ensuring they are resolved within Service Level commitments and escalating them to 2nd/3rd line when appropriate.
- Resolving incidents and requests in a logical and thorough approach.
- Completing backup and system checks.
- Using SIEM and UBA tools to track and analyse any potential cyber threats
- Performing security and risk analysis to pinpoint vulnerabilities
- Presenting improvement strategies to clients to improve company security
- Updating security systems regularly to avoid any potential cyberattacks
- Performing security audits
- Demonstrable documentation skills (reports, policies, procedures, workflows) as required
- Occasional travel to client sites when needed
