Job Overview:

Coordinator all transport tasks for all areas of the company, dedicated loads, pallet networks and own transport, research and development.

Location (In Person): 200 The Quadrant Ash Ridge Road, Bradley Stoke, Bristol, BS32 4QA

Hours: Monday to Friday – 7.30am – 5pm (1-hour total breaks during day).

20 days holiday per year.

Duties: Booking Dedicated loads/Special Loads (Daily/Weekly)

Book dedicated loads as required for the all the different teams within the business. Get quotes for dedicated/special loads for either pricing exercises or firm orders to ensure best value based on Quote or Sales order.
Combine runs where possible to get best value, and ensure we get the best price for transport. Raise Purchase orders as required.
Build a good product knowledge and knowledge of how jobs will be picked for ease of quoting and obtaining the correct vehicles for all jobs.
Moving materials between external storage yards - (Daily/Weekly)
Work with purchasing to organise transport to efficiently move stock between external storage as required.
Special HS2 type deliveries (As required)

Complete relevant paperwork for HS2 booking forms and/or Data scope bookings and special deliveries.

Work on partnerships with Transport providers (As required)

Review and get approved transport partnerships for best value and to suit the needs of the business, covering both dedicated loads, pallet network & Courier network
Identify costly and difficult areas to deliver to and look for the best and most cost-effective way to deliver in these areas.
Own Transport - (Daily/Weekly)

Coordinate and arrange deliveries on own vehicles, including booking on HS2 sites. Combine runs with all parts of the company for the best use of the vehicle.

Contacting site contacts to book deliveries - (Daily)

Contact customer to book in dedicated loads, TPN and own vehicles deliveries in good time prior to check off load facilities, delivery restrictions, correct address, access requirements and any site-specific aspects to be aware of.
Work with the Warehouse Manager/Warehouse & Production Supervisors/Contracts/Customer Service team to decide on most appropriate means of despatch.
POD’s - (Daily/Weekly)
Chase POD’s and deal with delivery issues liaising with transport company

European Transport - (Daily/Weekly)

Ensure we are set up to ship to Europe and develop relationships with relevant providers to ensure we can deliver all types of products efficiently with range of options on timing - pallet network, dedicated and courier network.

Work with IT to ensure our system can efficiently produce correct commercial invoices.

Continual Improvement/Issues (As required)

Spend time researching and developing new ways or improving existing ways to get the best out of everything we dispatch or systems/companies we use to dispatch etc.
Report to line manager any quires or issues regarding transport in general.

Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and other relevant software applications
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation operations
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles is a plus
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
