As a Sister/Charge Nurse with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
You should be able to demonstrate leadership and resilience skills. Be able to co-ordinate the ward autonomously, achieve effective patient flow while maintaining patient and staff safety at all times

Main duties of the job- Support the band 7 with leadership and management duties and embedding new process' to improve the patient service.
- Be committed to upholding excellent standards of care by learning from clinical governance and evidenced based practice.
- Be a role model to the whole team, working with empathy and professionalism.
- Act as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team, working as part of team promoting good interdepartmental relationships
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all member of the MDT team, service users, relatives to help co-ordinate patient care
- Excellent organisation skills to effectively help to plan, deliver and evaluate care plans

Allerton ward is a 29 bedded surgical ward with the following specialties: Colorectal surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and gastroenterology. hepatology.

Essential criteria- Proven relevant experience at Band 5
- Evidence of continual professional development
- NMC registration
- Surgical knowledge and experience
- Post graduate diploma level education or equalivant
- Leadership and management knowledge or experience
