TheBusiness Support Officerwill work as part of the Business Delivery team to deliver an efficient business management support service to the People and Communities Division.

Business Support Officers will undertake day-to-day business and administrative tasks and provide support for projects, programmes and workstreams across the division.

All postholders will work with teams across the division but may also be assigned to support individual teams on long-term pieces of work, as the needs of the teams change.

TheBusiness Delivery teamenables the Division to deliver its purpose and functions. Working with specialists and project managers within teams, the integrated support team will:
  • Lead planning, reporting and forecasting processes;
  • Support risk management, corporate governance and business continuity planning;
  • Align resources, networks and channels to maximise impact and efficiency;
  • Support internal communication and deliver effective and timely business and administrative support.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.

Responsibilities include:
  • Business and office management support• Maintaining finance processes and payment systems
  • Supporting corporate reporting, corporate assurance and business planning
  • Supporting recruitment and induction processes
  • Undertaking administrative tasks and clerical duties.
  • Project support• Maintaining diaries and making travel arrangements
  • Booking meetings and venues
  • Monitoring generic inboxes and incoming enquiries
  • Organising documentation for meetings and events
  • Attending and supporting events
  • Supporting project teams with project documentation, minute-taking, collating risks and reports and other secretariat tasks
  • Supporting project teams with maintaining expert networks, communicating with stakeholder groups and supporting patient and public voice partners
  • Other similar duties as required.

Secondments

Applicants from within the NHS will be offered on a secondment basis only, agreement should be obtained from their employer prior to submitting the application.
