PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Responsible for the successful delivery of strategic Programmes and Projects aligned to the ii Change Portfolio through the management of team of Jnr Project Managers, Project Managers and Programme Managers.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Manage a team of Project Management professionals, provide leadership and support where required
  • Work with the Head of Strategy & Change to prioritise ii’s portfolio of programmes and projects managing resources according to demand
  • Clearly translate and communicate clear Business Change priorities to the team
  • Understand and deliver the ii Change Programme meeting agreed timescales, quality and budget
  • Attend the Change Committee to provide context of project progress where required against change agenda
  • Engaging with all relevant stakeholders to agree the ii project Governance policies and ensure it remains relevant and fit for purpose
  • Working with Enterprise PMO ensure all Programmes and Projects follows the ii Governance policy
  • Identify all portfolio dependencies and risks, ensuring they are effectively reported, managed and resolved
  • Collaborate with all change delivery teams ensuring seamless integration of project and agile delivery processes
  • Ensure budgets are tracked and managed using appropriate tools ensuring identified deviations are escalated
  • Manage the implementation process ensuring all Service transition gates have been followed and have met the required standards or have been risk accepted at the right level where appropriate
  • Identify and allocate resources required to deliver the Programmes and Projects aligned to the change agenda and ensure conflicts are escalated
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships across relevant processes and business function
  • Where required act as a Programme Director for particularly large and complex changes to facilitate initiation and execution
  • Ensure consistency of approach and documentation in relation to stakeholder education, updates, steering meetings and escalation
  • Actively engage and contribute to the ii Leadership team
  • Maintain the first line of compliance defense by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
  • Maintain the first line of defense by operating risk controls assigned to the individual
  • Coaching and mentoring of the Team
  • Use the training and competence scheme to maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills and expertise of the team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Having led a team of experienced Project professionals
  • Experience in Programme management with a proven track record of delivery
  • Experienced with stakeholder management skills to Board and Exec Level
  • Detailed understanding of budgets and financial management, including associated reporting
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Understanding of building and deploying software and associated transition to support activities
  • Understanding of MS Project, other MS software and multiple collaboration tools e.g. Confluence, Slack etc
  • Understanding of project delivery lifecycles using structured project waterfall and agile methodologies, and importantly how to integrate waterfall style deadlines within an agile organization
  • Advanced flexibility to recognise, adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups with varying perspectives and objectives
