Maternity and Perinatal Programme/Network Lead | NHS England

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced leader to be part of our dynamic maternity and perinatal clinical network and programme, delivering improvement support service in the Southwest region. The role is part of the senior maternity and perinatal leadership team that replicates the quadrumvirate structure within organisations and systems as described within the Perinatal Quality Surveillance Model.

The role will have day-to-day leadership and management responsibility for the development and delivery of effective clinical network/programme arrangements for specific programme areas within the South West. This will include ensuring effective engagement of, and co-production with, women, birthing people & families, professionals and constituent organisations in network/programme activities that support the delivery of national clinical outcome ambitions in line with local needs and resources.

The post holder will be responsible for:
  • Oversight, leadership and management of the relevant clinical network/programme and team.
  • Managing the network/programme team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s annual business plan, progress and dashboard reporting and risk and issue management.
  • Liaising with systems and organisations (such as ICBs/ICSs, LMNS’, Health Innovation Networks) within the geographical area.
  • Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns.
  • Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, networks/programmes and the wider NHS systems and organisations.
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity of the team.
  • Deputise for the Regional Chief Midwife as appropriate
  • Oversight and management of all aspects of the Department or Directorate budget where appropriate

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
