We are delighted to invite a customer-focused, friendly and enthusiastic individual to join the Medical Examiner Southampton team to deliver a now statutory requirement of review following death.
This developing service is now statutory and will allow you to work closely with both hospital and community clinicians to ensure robust scrutiny and great communication at this time of great importance for families.

Due to the nature of this role and service, this role is on-site and the hours are as advertised. To work alongside the medical examiners and the other MEO’s in order to facilitate timely and effective review of cases.
To act as an intermediary voice between the bereaved, clinicians and bereavement service
To establish and resolve any concerns relating to a patient’s death. Work with medical examiners to aid them in their responsibility for overseeing the death certification process for all deceased patients in both hospital and community settings.
Provide preliminary scrutiny and accurate documentation to aid and establish the cause of death
You are a remote customer-facing service and require excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You should have an inquiring mind and attention to detail.
You must be empathetic, professional reliable and proficient in using IT systems
role is 8.30-4.30 and Monday to Friday (no weekends or BH)
