Job Opportunity: Construction Solicitor

We are seeking a Construction Solicitor to join our client's dynamic legal team. This role offers a competitive salary and includes extensive and varied work that will take your career to the next level!

Job Profile: As a Construction Solicitor, you will provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues affecting the business. You will work closely with key business functions and the wider legal department, adapting to evolving job demands and undertaking various duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, lead, and assist in the negotiation of various contracts, NDAs, sub-consultancy agreements, joint venture agreements, and other commercial matters.
  • Identify clauses that present legal, insurance, and commercial risks, propose alternative wording, and liaise with project leaders, other in-house counsel, and clients to facilitate changes.
  • Contribute to best practices regarding standard contract management, tools, and precedents.
  • Provide support and management of claims involving the company as directed by the Head of Legal UK.
  • Provide in-house training and contribute to the maintenance of standard terms and conditions for the business.
  • Assist in export control matters and general risk management and corporate governance (including Company Secretarial matters).

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 0-3 years PQE experience in construction or commercial law with a leading international law firm or in-house team.
  • Previous in-house experience in the energy/nuclear sector or a strong interest in the energy sector is highly desirable.
  • Excellent drafting and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.
