CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician you will take the role in the implementation of Digital deliverables, ensuring all outputs are produced to a high standard in accordance with project requirements.
Job description:
As a CAD Technician you will be an integral member of the team as it grows. You will be required to support the engineering teams in current commissions which may be 2D, 3D or BIM Level 2. We are looking for someone who will take this challenge head on, be part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.We will be looking to provide capabilities across light, heavy and metro rail systems and work alongside developing signalling and track teams.
Based in London, 1-2 days in our office in Waterloo and 1-2 days on site in Acton is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting in developing engineering designs using best practice details and bespoke solutionsProviding BIM Level 2 support from creation of documentation to validation and As Built Close Out
Managing 3D CAD models, Contributing in your specialized discipline but also supporting other engineering disciplines where requiredAssist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivered to project standards
Responsible for implementing best practice and consistent processes across the project, this includes liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure the correct standards are applied.
Responsible for quality processes and quality standards of all drawing deliverables, Utilise Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation for detailed drawing creation and documentation, ensuring the information is fully coordinated.Liaise with discipline task teams leads to ensure output is fully coordinated
Lead the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models.Produce drawing output from 3D model information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
Ensure all drawings tare submitted, meet the project requirements set out
Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution
Ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards
Participate in quality assurance checks of to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employers information requirementsAssist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status
Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary
Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues
Profile:
CAD Technician with at least a minimum of 3 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects
Experience of working in an engineering production environmentExperience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including BS1192 and ISO 19650
Proficient in using Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer, Bentely RaceWay is preferred and MicrostationDemonstrated experience in leading the technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design through to detailed construction models
Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverables.
Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL
Experience working with BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT)Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
