Working in the Capital Projects Team the newly formed role of Capital Project Support Officer – Charitable is a pivotal link between York & Scaborough Hospitals Charity, the Hospital Trust and YTHFM. The role is responsible for supporting and ensuring the smooth running of projects delivered across the hospital portfolio that are funded by the Hospital Charity.
The role will be directed by the Head of Capital Projects, to ensure the Project Management Office (PMO) operates effectively in line with set timescales and operating standards. Given that the role is new within the team, it is a role in which the suitable candidate can develop into, gaining project management skills and experience in project delivery.The PMO manages a diverse portfolio of projects, with several of them operating concurrently. This means there is a requirement to be self-motivated and organised.
Given the varied projects there is a requirement to communicate with a diverse portfolio of clients regarding their projects.
As the role is new within the Project Management Office, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will be self-motivated in the required duties of the role.
The main duty of the role is to support in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time and with no defects to enable the enhancement of the patient care environment for all users – visitors, patients and staff. This will be achieved through supporting with the management of projects from start to finish by ensuring a clear and effective project scope is formulated alongside a defined list of stakeholders, developing project focused user groups where applicable, supporting in the procurement of building work, goods and services, and ensuring compliance with the relevant NHS design guidelines and policies and procedures.In addition to maintaining regular progress reports to all project stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be based in a busy office environment with others, however given the diversity of the role there will be times where you will be out of the office environment working/visiting various wards/departments and other hospital sites liaising with end users, colleagues and project stakeholders in accordance with the project requirements.
