Production Operative

 F.  Bamford (Engineering) Ltd, known in the industry as Bamford Doors, specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of custom made, aluminium communal security doors and screens.

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an production operative to operate at our head office manufacturing site.

Stockport Head Office, Located on Whitehill Industrial Estate, SK4 1NT

• Assisting in ensuring smooth operation of all aspects of production operations.
• Assisting with Unloading / Loading vehicles.
• Managing restocking of consumable in work areas.
• Managing levels of waste materials in production areas on a daily basis and ensuring correct disposal, including assisting with cleaning machinery and production areas.
• Assisting with management of stock items and built units, including movement of items around facility using manual handling devices, forklift trucks and cranes.
• Assisting with monthly stock take.
• Assisting with stock rotation and identification.
• Collating stock items/orders for shipment to sub-contractors
• Assisting with assembly of door and frame sets.
• Assisting with pre shipment inspection including preparing doors for inspection.

Role reports to the Production Manager

• Previous Forklift truck and overhead gantry crane experience including slinging.
• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the business
• Good organisational skills
• Clean driving license
• IT Skills (to be able to use company business system with initial training)

What to expect

• Full time role 36 hours per week plus overtime

1. 00 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday

• Rate of pay £11.44 – 13.38 per hour depending on experience (pay increase on successful completion of various probationary points)
• Holidays 23 days per annum (46 shifts) plus bank holidays (3 days to be used at Christmas)
