The Role: The College is seeking an experienced Mental Health Adviser to provide support to students, based at Hackney campus.

If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our Mental Health & Wellbeing team of Counsellors and Mental Health Advisers. This is an opportunity to join the team in an exciting stage of its development. We were named as a Commended College in the 2023 AoC Beacon Awards for our work in mental health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities include working face-to-face with a caseload of students. You will triage clients to the appropriate service, ensuring the safeguarding of all learners. You will provide short term mental health advice to individual learners for whom this would be beneficial to their wellbeing and success in their studies.

You will provide drops ins and focused group work. You will liaise with independent guidance services and external agencies to ensure learner access to appropriate internal and external referral sources.

You would be based at our Hackney campuses, with travel to support other campuses as required.
Who You Are:
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level and will have recognised professional qualifications and experience.
You will demonstrate effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
You will have significant experience of offering mental health interventions and providing confidential services.

You will have experience of working with individuals from different cultures, disabilities, sexual orientations and ages, preferably within an education setting. Being resilient and confident to work autonomously is key.
