Nursery Chef Manager

The main duties of the post will include:
- Running of the day to day operation of the nursery kitchen including rotas, shift patterns for chef’s and porters, in line with business needs.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and Nursery team in relation to implementing procedures and protocols for a seamless service.
- Managing compliance of food hygiene, food allergen safety, cleanliness and health and safety regulations by all staff.
- Ensuring daily procedures to run the Nursery Catering provision are followed diligently by all staff.
- Work closely with the Catering Development Manager to develop and implement new menu that are nutritious, seasonal and varied ensuring that all children with allergies are catered for in line with our allergy policy.
- Work with the Nursery Manager and Nursery team to continually improve customer service assessing feedback from parents and implementing change when needed.
- Oversee all ordering, stock levels and management, storage, controlling wastage to achieve set targets.
- Ensure personal development of the Nursery catering team through appraisals and PDPs.
- Be responsible for food production, presentation and portion size to a high standard and ensure this standard is maintained continually.
- React to all parent and Nursery staff feedback, and implement improvements where required.
- Control the financial requirements, ensuring target GP’s and wage ratio are in-line with budget requirements.
- When required work in other areas of the campus and support in the running of events as requested.
- Attend regular meetings within Essex Food structure.
