We are AMS. We are a global total workforce solutions firm; we enable organisations to thrive in an age of constant change by building, re-shaping, and optimising workforces. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Compliance Data Analyst for an initial 6-9 month contract. The role is hybrid with good flexibility on location and remote working (candidates must be UK based).

Purpose of the Role:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, will be establishing a dedicated compliance data analytics function with a focus on driving compliance effectiveness through data-driven insights. This role will help to build a robust data infrastructure by sourcing, processing, validating, and documenting data critical to the company's compliance efforts.

The Compliance Data Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, technology teams, and data owners to ensure the successful delivery of key milestones, aiming for completion by the end of next year.

As a Compliance Data Analyst you will:

  • Collaborate with Technology and golden source data owners to tactically source data, integrate it into the compliance data layer, and ensure that the actual data aligns with expected results.
  • Identify relationships between disparate datasets, document data attributes, their metadata, and track dependencies to ensure full coverage of process and compliance needs.
  • Establish and maintain governance structures for data, ensuring accurate documentation of relationships, gaps, and issues within and between data sources.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize and identify prospective data sources, addressing data gaps and resolving issues in collaboration with the relevant teams.
  • Validate data to ensure its accuracy, integrity, and compliance with expected outcomes. Oversee testing and ensure it is embedded into the compliance function by the target deadline.
  • Partner with Tableau developers to provide input on how compliance data should be visualized to ensure it delivers impactful insights on screen. This includes contributing ideas to user experience and visual design for compliance monitoring dashboards.
  • Address security and confidentiality concerns as data is tactically sourced and brought into the environment. Support the transition from tactical to strategic data sources over time.
  • Support the tech team in delivering the necessary data solutions followed by a testing and improvement period.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, data processing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load).
  • Experience of working on a complex compliance project/programme, ideally on behalf of a financial services organisation.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data relationships, and metadata documentation.
  • Experience in working with multiple data sources, data integration, and identifying gaps or issues.
  • Ability to collaborate with technology teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices; experience with Tableau or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of security and confidentiality concerns around data sourcing and integration.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to handle disciplined data management processes.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs within a dynamic, project-driven environment.
