Teacher of Computer Science
KS5 teaching experience is not essential but is desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for developing the skills and knowledge of our pupils. Variation in teaching styles is encouraged, with a strong focus on student centered learning, sharing good practice and innovation in the classroom, as well as a willingness to assist with co-curricular clubs.The department places high value on continuing professional development and encourages colleagues to keep abreast of subject change.
The programming language taught across the Foundation is Python and it is expected the successful candidate will be a competent programmer.
The Computer Science department has expanded rapidly in recent years and is highly regarded by all schools in the Foundation. There has been a significant growth in the number of students studying the subject at GCSE, and this is now continuing into A-Level.All students in KS3 have one hour of Computer Science per week at each of our secondary schools.
