An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of our developing CYP Emergency and Urgent care provision. As part of the NHS 5 Year Forward View, CWP have developed the crisis response services for CYP.
We are recruiting a number of clinicians to CWP’s newly formed CYP Urgent Support Team.
You will form part of our skilled, multidisciplinary team. Clinicians will be offered the opportunity to continue to develop skills & experience in this area through the induction process, internal training, CPD & supervision.
The service will operate over 24 hours, 7 days a week to provide crisis mental health assessment & interventions for CYP in a range of settings, as well as operating the CYP aspect of the trust wide crisis line. Team members work 11.5 hour shifts.
The service covers the whole of the CWP footprint, with multiple hubs across this patch. This post is based in Crewe, but all Clinical Co-ordinators are expected to travel to support hubs across the CWP patch based on clinical activity & service need.

Clinical Co-ordinators form an integral part of the service, with responsibilities such as supervision of junior staff, training and development, service development and overseeing complex cases and escalations. Although a clinical role there are also aspects of management, such as performance management and rostering.
Applicants need to be able to think on their feet, working flexibly to manage incoming unplanned work across the day, leading a team of staff to achieve this, whilst offering support and clinical knowledge to junior staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Regulated with one of the following regulatory bodies: HCPC Professions and protected titles | (hcpc-uk.org) Registered Nurse (NMC Part One) The Nursing & Midwifery Council – The Nursing and Midwifery Council (nmc.org.uk) Social work England Home - Social Work England Association of Child Psychotherapists Register of Child Psychotherapists | Association of Child Psychotherapists (childpsychotherapy.org.uk). N.B. Social workers registered with Scottish or Welsh regulatory bodies would be expected to register with the English regulatory body upon acceptance.
- Degree level or equivalent qualification in health or social care related subject (Past Nursing diploma also accepted)
- Practicing at masters level or equivalent as evidenced by qualifications, post graduate studies and relevant experience.
- Nationally recognised post-qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to the core profession
- Leadership qualification or equivalent experience
- Masters or equivalent level qualification in health/social care.
- Therapeutic training to a recognised level
- Supervision qualification
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria- Sound knowledge of current professional staff and team development and continuous service improvement.
- Knowledge of current legislation relating to MHA and Children’s Act.
- Information management and technology skills.
- The ability and knowledge to signpost to other services.
- Recognition of the interface between physical and mental health for children, young people and carers.
- Knowledge of the principles of CYP-IAPT
Experience
Essential criteria- Significant experience working within children and young people’s mental health
- Multi agency/professional working experience.
- Experience of delivering supervision both clinical and line management supervision
- Effective delivery of managing quality and change improvements.
- Evidence of management experience or further development within a leadership course.
