Payroll Clerk

Robert Half is thrilled to be partnering with a well-established organisation in Harrogate to find a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to work autonomously in a hands-on role.

Role Overview: As the stand-alone Payroll Officer, you will oversee the complete monthly payroll process for approximately 300 employees. This includes managing payroll from start to finish, processing starters and leavers, and handling various changes and payroll adjustments with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for running the monthly payroll function for 300 staff.
• Process and verify starters, leavers, and payroll variables such as pay adjustments, bonuses, or deductions.
• Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and internal policies.
• Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate closely with other teams, such as HR, where required to ensure payroll accuracy.

Key Details:

• This is a temporary role requiring onsite work in Harrogate.
• The role is part-time at three days per week.
• You will be working in a stand-alone capacity, so a proven background in independently managing payroll processes is essential.
• Assignment duration is 5 months.

Key Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar payroll role
• Strong understanding of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle payroll queries with professionalism.
