Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Associate/VP)

Reporting to: Director, IT Support and Infrastructure Manager

We are now seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

This is an office-based role to facilitate on-the-job learning and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
• Lead infrastructure projects aligned with the company's technology strategies.
• Manage Windows and Linux-based systems, virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (365 & Azure).
• Oversee network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity measures ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
• Develop automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency (PowerShell, etc.).
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with internal teams and vendors.
• Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) strategies are in place and tested regularly.
• Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and financial service regulations.

Professional Experience Required:

• Minimum three years' experience in IT support within a customer service-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of seniority.
• Ability to manage pressure effectively, with a proactive and positive attitude.
• Analytical thinking and persistence in solving complex issues.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience working in a smaller corporate environment (

Technical Expertise:

• Expertise in complex infrastructure environments across multiple sites.
• Proficient in Windows Server 2016-2025, Azure Cloud/AD, SSO/MFA.
• Virtualisation knowledge: VMware (ESXi, vCenter) and Hyper-V.
• Advanced experience in Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM.
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Intune, and Office 365.
• Strong background in Veeam backup solutions and NetApp storage.
• Knowledge of Cisco networking fundamentals and Fortinet firewalls.
• Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, NetScaler, and Mitel Telephone Systems.
• Experience with financial services tools such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, and Fidessa.
• Experience in SQL Server database management & administration is beneficial.

Salary - £60,000 - £70,000 including bonus and benefits
