We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about patient care. Who are able to communicate at all levels to help drive our service forward and provide high standards of safe patient care at all times.

As a healthcare support worker, you pay a vital role in our patients care, in medicine we cover a variety of specialities, ranging from the acute areas such as cardiology, respiratory, gastro to our care of the elderly wards including stroke and stroke rehab.

As health care professionals we have the privilege of looking after those who can’t always look after themselves, for some it’s a short stay as they recover from the acute phase of their illness and for others its providing that care when they need it most and giving them dignity at the end of their lives.

As a Healthcare Support Worker at York Hospital, you will be part of a multi-professional team providing high standards of care to our patients. You will maintain and promote patient independence and dignity to ensure each patient receives a positive experience.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays:
  • Early – 07:00-15:00
  • Late – 12:00 - 20:00
  • Long Day – 07:00 - 20:00
  • Night – 19:30 - 07:30

Please be aware that you must be able to attend a full time induction programme for the first 4 weeks in your new role, this must be within 3 months of your interview date.
