We are looking for an experienced band 7 ADOS trained SLT with a passion for working with children with Social Communication Differences (SCD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to be part of a friendly, experienced and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

You will have a key role in the assessment of ASD in pre-school and school aged children working alongside Paediatricians and other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) within the Cheyne Child Development Services based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and at Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced clinicians wanting to continue to develop their expertise and interest in working within Child Development Services.
  • To work within the Early Years Speech and Language Therapy and Child Development Service Teams to provide a highly specialist assessment and diagnostic service as part of a multidisciplinary team, for assessment and diagnosis of Autism and related conditions using relevant standardised assessments of children’s language, communication and interaction skills (such as the ADOS).
  • Deliver highly specialist clinical services to children across the age range including developing, implementing and evaluating specialist programmes of care, advice and support for preschool children with developmental speech, language delays / disorders and social communication differences.
  • Support parents, clients and other health and education professionals in all issues related to client management and delivering parent workshops to support understanding of ASD pre and post-diagnosis.
  • Have well established and proven highly specialist skills in the area of Autism Spectrum Condition and other relevant clinical specialisms within the broad range of SLCN encountered within the caseload.
  • Provide highly specialist clinical supervision and line management to other speech and language therapists in the team.
