The Kentish Town Day Nursery are seeking a passionate Nursery Assistant to join their team. Our current staff team provide experiences that enhance our curriculum and our parents love the truly inspirational quality of the social and physical environment.

The Kentish Town Day Nursery & Preschool, offers a warm and friendly welcome where children aged 3 months to 5 years can have lots of fun and enjoy learning in a safe environment.

Located on the ground floor of a former school in Ryland Road, the nursery provides inspirational learning experiences, both indoors and out. Unlike many London nurseries, we have a lovely garden where children can safely play and explore in a secure environment.

We love to involve our parents and have a cooking club so we can share delicious recipes, as well as a lending library so families can take books home for their children to enjoy.

Nursery Assistant main responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
  • Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
  • Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
  • Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
  • Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
