About you

Would you like to make a positive contribution to benefit older people?

Spiritual well-being - rather than religious affiliation or belief - as a universal need is a cornerstone of MHA's positive approach to ageing and we aim to provide the highest quality care and support for older people of all faiths and beliefs.

We are looking for a person to be responsible for the spiritual, religious and pastoral life of the home/scheme and who will build good working relationships with local faith communities. A significant proportion of our residents participate in the regular Christian worship that is part of the life of all our homes and schemes, so alongside an inclusive approach to spirituality, we need a Chaplain who is able to lead Christian worship.

We are therefore looking for a person who is in good standing with their Christian community1 (a lay person or an ordained minister).

An empathetic understanding of spiritual aspects of ageing and dementia, demonstrated through experience of providing pastoral care and, ideally, leading services, is essential.

1In accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Schedule 9, Part 1, there is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian.

If you want to know more then please apply via our website mha.org.uk

MHA are fully committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as this is embedded in our values: respect, nurture and inspire. In addition, as a committed employer we have been awarded level 2 under the Disability Confident Scheme.

Please note that interviews may take place prior to the closing date and if a suitable candidate is appointed the role may close early.
