ROLE OVERVIEW

Volunteer Workers play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and spiritual mission of Wonderful Gospel Ministries. Working closely with the lead minister and team members, you will help ensure the smooth running of services, events, and activities while creating a Christ-centered, welcoming environment for all attendees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Support and Hospitality:
  • Greet and usher attendees during church services, meetings, and events, fostering a warm and inclusive environment.
  • Assist worship leaders and church staff during services and activities.
  • Help attendees with seating and navigating the church premises.
  • Serve refreshments during church services and events.
Premises Management:
  • Prepare the church premises for worship services, including setting up chairs, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure the premises remain clean, organized, and presentable before, during, and after events.
  • Assist in maintaining the tidiness and functionality of the church's facilities.
Resource Distribution:
  • Distribute church materials such as service bulletins, flyers, handouts, and evangelism resources.
  • Keep materials stocked, organized, and readily available for services and events.

Spiritual Qualifications:
  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A clear sense of God’s calling to serve in ministry.
  • A thriving prayer life and desire to support others’ spiritual growth.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Ability to build strong relationships with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational abilities.
  • Warm, approachable demeanor with a good sense of humor and humility.
Professional Skills:
  • Experience mentoring or training others is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
Language Proficiency:
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, such as Hausa or Yoruba, is a significant advantage.
Experience:
  • Ministry experience, especially within a Pentecostal church, is highly beneficial.
  • Previous volunteer or community service experience is desirable.
Cultural Awareness:
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and practicing anti-discriminatory principles.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds.
