Exeter School is the leading co-educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 1,000 pupils aged 3-18. The School is looking to appoint a PA to Head of Junior School and Administrator in our thriving junior school to commence at the beginning of September 2025.

The position is full time during term time (36 weeks per year) plus 6 days outside term time (81.08% full time equivalent).

Exeter Junior School, nestled within a larger campus, preserves the intimate and inviting atmosphere of a small junior school amid expansive grounds and excellent facilities. The post holder will be a confidential assistant to the Head of the Junior School and to be responsible for the efficient organisation of the School Office.

They will work closely with the Junior School Leadership Team, pastoral and academic staff, the Bursary, External Relations, Finance and HR teams, and the administrative staff within the School offices and with external agencies.

Applicants will be highly organised, resourceful and efficient, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining high standards. They will be a competent user of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ideally have experience of using iSAMS and My School Portal (or similar school IT packages).

Applicants will have a willingness to learn and grow, with a proactive approach to understanding the school’s culture, values, and activities. They will be approachable and empathetic, showing compassion, kindness and emotional intelligence when engaging with children, families, and colleagues.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The position is term-time only, with 6 additional working days required outside of term time, scheduled in advance. The role will attract a salary of £27,000 (pro-rata £24,752 inclusive of annual leave).
