English Teacher – Stockport – April Start
Are you a passionate English Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? A well-regarded secondary school in Stockport is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their English department from April 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential for a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for literature and language.
- Prepare students for their GCSE exams, ensuring they develop strong analytical and writing skills.
- Assess and track student progress, providing tailored feedback to support improvement.
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking, using a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
- Contribute to the English department, collaborating on curriculum planning and extracurricular activities.
- Support students of all abilities, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE, SCITT, or similar).
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
- A passion for English literature and language, with creative teaching techniques.
- Commitment to raising attainment levels and fostering a positive learning environment.
- £140–£200 per day, depending on experience.
- Full-time, long-term role, with the potential for a permanent contract.
- Support from a welcoming English department with excellent teaching resources.
