English Teacher – Stockport – April Start

Are you a passionate English Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? A well-regarded secondary school in Stockport is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their English department from April 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential for a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for literature and language.
  • Prepare students for their GCSE exams, ensuring they develop strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing tailored feedback to support improvement.
  • Encourage creativity and critical thinking, using a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Contribute to the English department, collaborating on curriculum planning and extracurricular activities.
  • Support students of all abilities, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE, SCITT, or similar).
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • A passion for English literature and language, with creative teaching techniques.
  • Commitment to raising attainment levels and fostering a positive learning environment.
