Hours: Term-time only

Start date: 02.09.2025

Morning: 7.45am – approx. 9:00am

Midday: 11:30am – approx. 1:00pm

Afternoon: 2:30pm – approx. 3:30pm
Salary: Minimum wage
Contract: Part-time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking a caring, punctual, and reliable Bus Escort to support the safe transport of children to and from nursery across three journeys per day. The successful candidate will work closely with the driver to ensure that children whom have additional needs travel in a safe, calm, and supportive environment.

Key Requirements:

Must be available at three key times each day to meet the children and the driver at the nursery:

Morning (pick-up)

Midday (home run for morning children and pick up for afternoon children)

Afternoon (drop-off)

This role would ideally suit someone living in or near the BL1 area due to the multiple short shifts throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities: Escort children safely between nursery and home on a designated bus route

Support children during the journey and assist with getting on and off the bus

Ensure seatbelts or harnesses are fastened appropriately

Offer a calm, caring presence and comfort to children who may find travel difficult

Communicate effectively with the driver, nursery staff, and parents/carers

Adhere to safeguarding, health, and safety guidelines at all times

Essential Qualities: Kind, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with young children

Excellent timekeeping and reliability

Calm, reassuring manner

Committed to promoting the safety and welfare of children

Willing to complete first aid training, paid for by COG

Desirable Experience: Previous experience working with children, especially those with additional needs

Familiarity with safeguarding procedures (training will be provided)

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Full training and induction will be provided.
